Lets talk about pricing

One of the questions I'm asked most often is...

"How much does a website cost?"

And my answer is usually..."It depends." Not because I'm trying to be vague, but because every business is different. A simple one-page website takes far less time than one with multiple services, online booking, blogs or an online shop. That's why I always start with a conversation. I want to understand your business, what you're hoping to achieve and, just as importantly, what you don't need.

Once we've had that chat, I'll give you a fixed price before any work begins.

For most of the websites I build, that's somewhere between £500 and £750, depending on the complexity. And once we've agreed that price...that IS the price. I don't charge by the hour, and I don't watch the clock. If I decide to spend another evening making sure something feels just right, that's my choice, not your invoice.

I much prefer working this way because I think it allows both of us to relax. You know exactly what you're investing before we begin, and I can focus on creating a website you'll be proud to share without worrying about how many hours have passed.

Most websites are completed within two weeks, although sometimes they're finished even sooner. Occasionally they take a little longer because we're waiting for photographs, content or simply because you're busy running your business - which is usually the case! Either way, I'll keep you updated throughout, so you'll always know what's happening.

One thing I've learnt over the years is that uncertainty creates stress. Whether it's life, work or websites, people feel more comfortable when they know where they stand. That's why I've always believed in being open about my pricing.

I don't want anyone worrying that asking for a quote means they'll be committing to something they can't afford, or that the final invoice will be much higher than they expected.

It shouldn't feel like that. Building a website should feel like working alongside someone who genuinely wants to help your business grow.

Sometimes the greatest luxury isn't finding the cheapest option, it's finding someone who makes the whole process feel simple.

Perhaps it's time we had that cup of tea instead, you might be pleasantly surprised.
