A fresh pair of eyes!

Why I've introduced a Website Marketing MOT

Put the kettle on…

I've introduced something new at Beyond Talk. It's called my Website Marketing MOT, and the idea actually came from something I've noticed while working with small business owners.

Not everyone needs someone to build or refresh their website for them. There are plenty of business owners who are perfectly happy logging into their website, changing some words, swapping an image, adding a new service or moving things around.

The problem isn't always doing the changes. It's knowing which changes are actually worth making.

When it's your own business, you're incredibly close to it. You know what you do, you understand your services and you know why customers choose you. But someone landing on your website for the first time doesn't have any of that knowledge. They need to understand very quickly what you do, whether you're right for them, why they should trust you and what they should do next.

And sometimes that's where a fresh pair of eyes can make all the difference.

So what is a Website Marketing MOT?

It's not a technical audit and I'm not going to disappear into the back of your website looking at code.

I'm looking at it as a marketer and as a potential customer. I'll look at things like your messaging, content, customer journey, calls to action, trust and credibility, and whether the website is actually helping someone take that next step.

I'll tell you what's working as well as what could be better, because this isn't about finding fault for the sake of it. You'll receive a personalised Stop • Start • Improve Action Plan, your Top 5 Priority Actions, and we'll have a 30-minute call to talk everything through.

And then you can do the changes yourself

That's really the point of this service. If you're comfortable managing your own website, you don't need to pay someone £25 an hour to make changes you can perfectly well make yourself.

You just need to know what to change first and why.

Of course, if you'd rather hand some of the changes over to me afterwards, you can. But there's absolutely no obligation to do that. You can work through the recommendations yourself, pass them to whoever already looks after your website or simply tackle them gradually when you have the time.

Why £195?

I wanted this to sit somewhere between giving someone a few quick thoughts over a cup of tea and taking on a full website project. For £195, you're getting my time, my marketing experience and an independent look at your website, followed by a practical plan you can actually use.

No automatic recommendation for a rebuild. No list of things you suddenly have to buy, just an experienced pair of eyes and some clear direction, because sometimes your website doesn't need replacing.

You just need someone to help you see what you've stopped noticing.

Right. That's the new service explained.

Now you really can finish your tea.
