Your Questions, Answered
-
That’s the first question most people ask, and it's one of the reasons I believe in fixed-price projects.
We'll start with a conversation about your business, what you'd like your website to achieve and the budget you have in mind. Sometimes a complete new website is the right solution, while other times a refresh of your existing site is all that's needed.
Once we've agreed the best approach, I'll provide a fixed quotation before any work begins. That means you'll know exactly what you're investing, with no hidden costs or unexpected invoices.
-
Not every project needs a complete rebuild. If your current website has good foundations, we can refresh, refine or improve what’s already there. Together we’ll look at what’s working, what isn’t, and decide on the right approach for your business.
-
If you already have a domain name, we can usually connect or redirect it to your new website. If you don’t have one yet, I can help you choose and register something that suits your business and is easy for customers to find.
-
Yes - wherever possible, websites are built within accounts registered to you. That means your website, domain and subscriptions stay in your ownership while I support with setup and create the website alongside you.
You’ll remain in control and can continue managing the website yourself or choose ongoing support if you’d prefer.
-
Timescales vary depending on the size of the project and how ready your content is, but I’ll always give you a realistic timeframe upfront so you know what to expect. Some I have built in a day and others it can take a couple of weeks. For updates to current websites it could be a couple of hours work, again it depends on the complexity, but I’ll always give you a cost upfront.
-
Yes, wherever possible I build websites so you can confidently make updates yourself. Support is available afterwards too if you’d rather not manage everything yourself.
-
Most websites require an ongoing platform or hosting subscription (for example Wix, Squarespace, 123 Reg, GoDaddy or similar), alongside a yearly domain renewal.
These costs are paid directly by you so your website remains in your ownership and under your control. I’ll always explain expected costs upfront and help you choose an option that suits your business and budget.
-
Usually, yes. If you already use scheduling software, payment systems, forms, email marketing or other business tools, we’ll look at how these can work with your website.
There’s often no need to start again if your current setup works well.
If you’re starting from scratch, I can help you choose options that suit your business, budget and how involved you want to be day to day.
-
Not at all. Professional photography can elevate a website, but it isn’t essential. We can work with existing images, talk about simple ways to capture your own, or explore alternative options that still feel professional and authentic.
-
Yes. A website isn’t only about how it looks - it also needs clear messaging. I can help shape content, structure and flow so your website reflects your business and speaks to the right people.
-
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to understand websites or arrive with all the answers. My role is to make the process feel straightforward and manageable, without overwhelming you with technical language.
-
Yes. Some clients prefer complete independence and others like occasional support after launch. Ongoing support can be discussed depending on what works best for you.
-
The process is collaborative, straightforward and designed to feel manageable. We’ll start by understanding your business, goals and customers before moving into structure, content and design. You’ll be involved throughout, but never expected to know all the technical details.
-
With over 25 years of marketing experience, I bring more than website design alone. My approach combines strategic thinking, customer understanding and practical advice to create websites that feel aligned with your business and support your goals.
I also understand the process from both sides, as both the person creating websites and someone who has invested in them too.
-
We'll arrange a relaxed conversation about your business, your goals and what you'd like your website to achieve. I'll then put together a fixed-price proposal with a suggested timescale, so you know exactly what to expect before any work begins.
-
That's perfectly okay. Every business is different, and sometimes it's easier to have a quick chat than search through a list of answers. If you'd like to talk through your ideas, I'd love to hear from you.
