It all begins here
Well... that's it.
Beyond Talk Consultancy is officially live.
If you've found your way here, thank you. I thought it was only right to start by telling you a little about how this all came about. Although Beyond Talk Consultancy is new, the work itself really isn't.
For many years, alongside my corporate marketing career, I've been creating websites, writing content and helping friends, family and local businesses build a stronger online presence. Sometimes that meant refreshing an existing website, other times it meant starting with a completely blank page and creating something from the ground up.
I've always loved the process. Not just designing a website, but helping people organise their ideas, find their voice and create something that genuinely reflects who they are and the business they've worked so hard to build.
Then, after almost 30 years in marketing, I stepped away from my corporate career and followed a very different path, creating Soulstone Healing, my holistic therapy business in Derbyshire.
Building Soulstone Healing from the ground up gave me a completely different perspective. I wasn't the marketing professional helping someone else anymore, I was the business owner making every decision myself. Designing a website, writing every page, choosing images, understanding SEO, setting up Google, claiming my Business Profile and wondering if I was making the right decisions.
It reminded me just how much there is to think about when you're trying to do everything yourself.
Then something rather lovely happened. Other therapists started asking if I could help with their websites. One conversation became another, then another, and before I knew it I was creating websites for people who were brilliant at what they did but simply needed someone to help bring their business to life online.
I realised that this was the part I enjoyed just as much as marketing itself. Helping people organise their ideas. Helping them find the words to talk about themselves with confidence. Helping them create websites that truly reflected the care, passion and professionalism they put into their work every single day.
That's why Beyond Talk Consultancy now exists.
I'm not looking to build huge corporate websites or take on projects that last for months. I simply want to help fellow small business owners who love what they do but don't want to spend their evenings wrestling with websites, SEO and marketing. I know how overwhelming it can feel because I've been there myself.
Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing A Cup of Tea & A Few Thoughts, which is simply a collection of observations, lessons and little snippets I've picked up throughout my career, while building Soulstone Healing and while working with other small businesses.
Nothing overly technical. Nothing full of marketing jargon. Just honest conversations, shared over a virtual cup of tea, that I hope make running your business feel that little bit easier.
